The ESSENTIALS: Five Models that would make for great WWE Divas

Welcome to another sexy edition of the ESSENTIALS.  This week, I posted an article on the 30 sexiest women of wrestling.  The article quickly went on to become one of the most popular on the blog.  Thus, inspiring me to do a bit of a companion piece.  Earlier in the year I made the argument that "sex sells" and that the WWE Divas division thrived in the Attitude Era partly due to the fact that the divas were steaming up TV screens week after week.  The current crop of divas have some very capable performers, but it's always going to seem as if there's a missing element.  That missing element is the model of diva who thrives in the role Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler once filled.  The days of the divas who had major mainstream crossover appeal and were primarily used as valets and occasional bikini contests and fulfilled our fantasies in DVD releases, are long gone.  Still, if the WWE were to do another "Diva Search", I'm going to throw a few names out there for them to start with.  These five women are smoking hot, but also possess that X-factor.  That intangible quality that I believe, can help bring back the sexy and win back some of the attention the division has been sorely lacking.  This list is purely for entertainment purposes and shouldn't be taken very seriously.  And even if you don't miss the "sexy era", at least you can appreciate the view.

 

Number 5: Sophie Reade

This British bombshell is infamous for winning the UK's version of Big Brother, her spreads in Nuts magazine and for her willingness bare all.  She is the kind of buxom beauty that drive men wild with just her mere appearance.  Judging by most of the candid shots taken of her, she's even more comfortable in a bikini than in regular clothing.  Think Pamela Anderson in her heyday. Reade's exhibitionist persona, jaw dropping 30GG bust and sexy accent would all be trademarks that would build a package very unique to the rest of the women on the roster.  She could also bring back the lucrative and attention grabbing relationship between the WWE and Playboy magazine.

Number 4: Suelyn Medeiros

Her Role: Valet


Suelyn has a cult following of admirers and with good reason, she is one of the sexiest women in the world.  There are very few women with the jaw dropping allure and seductive demeanor that she possesses and if used properly, she would become invaluable.  Perhaps best suited as a valet for someone like Alberto Del Rio.  Similar to Ric Flair in his heyday, Del Rio parading a sexy model around with him wherever he goes would add something extra to his character that he couldn't get anywhere else.  Her million dollar smile and captivating stare would give us all the more reason to hate the flamboyant Mexican Aristocrat.

Number 3: Kate Upton

Her Role: Ambassador


Kate Upton is currently one of America's "it girls".  She has that All-American appeal and boasts an all natural 34D chest.  The mainstream attention she could bring with her would provide quite useful and she also has youth on her side and would have plenty of time to learn her craft.  She was featured on the cover of the most recent Swimsuit Edition of Sports Illustrated and without a doubt, she would have the potential to fill the void Torrie Wilson has left.  Given all her sexy videos floating around on the Internet, it's fair to say she'd be right at home in front of the WWE camera.  She would be a great ambassador for the company and could be greatly utilized for advertising.  I know an Upton themed commercial for Monday Night Raw, would bring in some necessary male viewers in the 18-30 demographic alone.  Several covers of WWE themed Divas magazines and DVDs, would also provide great sales.

Number 2: Arianny Celeste

Her Role: Competitor


Arianny Celetse's stint with the UFC has proven her worth and the amount of publicity she brings to the company is without question.  Still, she doesn't play much of a role in the PPVs and could be lured away from the company for a mouth watering chance to become more of a household name in the WWE.  A chance to show more personality, mix it up in the ring and make more money, are all factors that Arianny would find hard to resist.  Out of every woman on this list, Celeste is the most natural competitor and has the best chance at making the transition from pretty face to Divas Champion someday.  It may be one of the harder deals to pull off, but if they could, it would be well worth it.

Number 1: Sara Jean Underwood

Her Role: Personality


Sara Underwood has a boatload of charisma and more personality than any diva on the current roster.  She has no shame in making fun of herself and as one of the hosts of G4's Attack of the Show, she brings with her years of hosting experience.  She would be best utilized in a similar role in the WWE.  Hosting various WWE DVD collections, doing work for WWE Classics, she could host the Diva-themed reality show planned for the WWE Network and be very entertaining as a backstage interviewer.  She is also highly athletic and could be a natural in the ring once she learned the basics.  With Kelly Kelly's looks and AJ Lee's personality, Underwood is the perfect storm and could be the most marketable, but would certainly be by far, the most relatable diva on the roster.
