I can't even begin to review last night's Raw as a whole show because there was only ONE thing I will remember 10 years from now and that is the ALL TIME classic between John Cena and CM Punk that took place in the main event.

If like me, you're actually planning on attending the first live show that comes to your town (albeit with a hooded cap and shades so that no one recognizes you on TV), then this is exciting news to you.  Looks like their going for a WWE philosophy of bright lights and longer walkways.  Hey as long as their pyro no longer sounds like a group of silent farts, color me very very pleased.

Welcome to this very unique edition of the ESSENTIALS.  Having recently watched Nigel McGuinness' self-released doc "The Last Of McGuinness", I had originally planned to write up a full review.  As I started typing however, my mind began to wonder just how the fiery Brit's career would have gone had he landed his dream job in the WWE.  Being that Nigel is one of my top 20 favorite wrestlers ever, I couldn't help but dream of the truly legendary rivalries he would've had in the big leagues.  You see where I'm going with this now?  Good.  My guess is you're as excited as I am then?  You're not even reading this intro anymore are you?  Not cool!  I had planned on overhyping the hell out of this thing.  Fine then Captain Impatient, enjoy.

Welcome to another edition of the HONOR ROLL. Every year during my "Year End Awards" I give out roughly 15 awards. Of those awards, "the big four" are the Wrestler, Woman, Tag Team & Match of the year. The winners of these awards were generally the most awesome performers of the year and with hundreds of prominent wrestlers worldwide, it's a true honor to be able to snag one of the four. This section of the blog will be dedicated to the winners for every year dating all the way back to 1990 (roughly the time I first began watching wrestling)! Every week I will add another year's winners until the database is up to date. This is just a fun series that will give you an idea of what the best of the best was in any year you may have missed. Any current and/or future winners will also be added to the honor roll and join the most prestigious group in all of blogging!

With 2K officially announcing it's five year deal with WWE Games, I found no photo more appropriate this week.  We could only hope that a 2K inspired WWE video game can be as awesome as their most famous sports titles, such as the critically worshipped NBA 2K series.  Only time will tell.

Fondly Remembering The "Matrix Minute"

It's one of the most awesome sequences in wrestling history and the moment that sparked my love for ROH wrestling.  I remember watching this in my college dorm and my head damn near exploded because it was so different from anything I had ever seen.  Been tracking ROH shows ever since.  Thus, it's a bit of a sentimental tidbit to add this in some form to the blog.  Enjoy.
