The G9Z Wrestling Honor Roll: Class Of 2010

 

 

Welcome to another edition of the HONOR ROLL. Every year during my "Year End Awards" I give out roughly 15 awards. Of those awards, "the big four" are the Wrestler, Woman, Tag Team & Match of the year. The winners of these awards were generally the most awesome performers of the year and with hundreds of prominent wrestlers worldwide, it's a true honor to be able to snag one of the four. This section of the blog will be dedicated to the winners for every year dating all the way back to 1990 (roughly the time I first began watching wrestling)! Every week I will add another year's winners until the database is up to date. This is just a fun series that will give you an idea of what the best of the best was in any year you may have missed. WWE PPV Report: Extreme Rules 2013

Triple H & Brock Lesnar main event the WWE's most brutal PPV event of the year.

Last year's Extreme Rules was the first ever PPV hailed a "classic event" since the blog's creation.  It was a show that had many memorable matches and was highlighted by a particularly cringe worthy main event between John Cena and Brock Lesnar.  This year's effort had the near impossible task of following the work the WWE superstars put forward when they collided in that all-time show in Chicago.  Could they top last year's spectacle?  Did HHH/Lesnar III live up to all the hype?  Find out in my quick review of WWE Extreme Rules 2013 after the jump!

Legendary Japanese wrestler Kenta Kobashi retired last week after a career worthy of any wrestling related Hall Of Fame.  The result?  Many mixed emotions and one hell of an awesome photo.

NJPW PPV Report: Dontaku 2013

New Japan's worst show of the year is still leagues ahead of what everyone else is putting out.

For the first time in roughly six months, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has released a slightly above average iPPV event.  It says a lot about just how amazing the promotion has been as of late if their worst effort still stands as one of the better events of the year thus far.  Not going to do one of my traditonal reviews for this one, but here are my ratings for each match:
