The G9Z Wrestling Honor Roll: Class Of 1993

Welcome to another edition of the HONOR ROLL. Every year during my "Year End Awards" I give out roughly 15 awards. Of those awards, "the big four" are the Wrestler, Woman, Tag Team & Match of the year. The winners of these awards were generally the most awesome performers of the year and with hundreds of prominent wrestlers worldwide, it's a true honor to be able to snag one of the four. With the 20th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw coming this Monday, the WWE has celebrated by releasing their list of the 50 greatest matches in the history of the show on WWE.com.  Now obviously, there will be some omissions (Like the classic tag between Chris' Benoit & Jericho vs. Triple H & Steve Austin), but I do believe they've crafted quite the definitive collection.  Here is the full list:

I'm laughing at the fact that everyone on twitter and I'm sure everywhere else on the Internet is so quick to jump on the idea that CM Punk is so far ahead of The Rock.  Sure, Punk out-promo'd the guy, but let's be honest here, did The Great One ever stand a chance at impressing the jaded fans of the IWC?

The 2012 Year End Awards

2012 was a landmark year for professional wrestling.  We saw the end of an era, the rise of the next one, a few promotions make their IPPV debut and loads of incredible matches.  In 2011, I said that I fell in love with pro wrestling all over again.  In 2012, that love birthed a great obsession as I literally spent the entire calendar year glued to my TV/PC screen with a smile on my face thoroughly entertained with promotions like WWE, TNA, ROH, NJPW, ACW, ICW, Chikara, DGUSA, PWG and more.  The resulting choices were not easy, but I stand behind my decisions for the best of the year.  Check after the jump and see why 2012 was one of the best years to be a wrestling fan!
