The ESSENTIALS: Top Ten Wrestlers the WWE Should Steal in 2012

Welcome to this very special yearly edition of the ESSENTIALS.  Every year I will do a top ten list of the wrestlers that could make the biggest potential impact in the WWE.  Each year, I find that there are great stars made in every promotion (TNA, ROH, CZW, CEW, WSU, NJPW, PW NOAH, Shimmer, Dragon Gate etc. etc.), However, I believe that to TRULY make it in the business, you need to leave your mark in the mecca of pro wrestling.  This list is not based upon performance alone, I am looking for the next breakout star.  These individuals need to have a good gimmick, charisma/marketability, in ring ability, and mic skills. For each individual, I will grade them in all of these categories and also look at what they bring to the table.  After doing so, I will determine their overall value and rank them based upon it.


*NOTE: I will only consider wrestlers who have never been in the WWE (and no dark matches don't count).

2011 has been a banner year with lots of classic matches.  I find myself fully renewed as far as my interest in the WWE goes.  This DVD set is one I have been waiting for since July, so did it live up to my lofty expectations?  Find out after the jump!

This was a great PPV in terms of excitement.  In terms of match quality, not so much.  Still, The Rock and John Cena's epic clash at Wrestlemania XXVIII is looming, and they do an excellent job of building the hype.  Even if it was at Cena's expense.

The ESSENTIALS: Great Champions Of North America

Welcome to this very special edition of the ESSENTIALS.  I am a huge believer in the theory that a pro wrestling promotion is only as good as it's champion.  In the long history of the business, there have been many, but only few who have truly defined what the word 'champion' really means.  In the WWE, they like to consider a great champion someone who drew a lot of money (such as Hogan, Austin, The Rock and Andre the Giant).  While that may be true, in my mind, a true champion is a person who defined a belt and dominated that belt's competition in their respective era. 

So how do I rank these great champions?  Heres the criteria:

• The person must have held the championship for more then a few months (which is uncommon nowadays) or have had a high amount of reigns. 
• The quality of the opponents the champion defended against.
• The quality of the matches.
• The ability to elevate other talent.
• The champion's reign's importance to the championship's history.

Now that we've covered all the bases, here is the list of the 15 greatest champion's of all time.
